Seems like all the prayers or curses given by many Unicorn bike owners were answered when HMSI decided to release a modified version of the old Unicorn, in form of Dazzler. The Dazzler is the fifth bike from the HMSI garage to sport the same 150cc engine with different tuning, the earlier bikes being Unicorn, Achiever, CBZ Extreme, and Hunk.
The timing for release of Dazzler might not have been great, but it surely has been filled with features to make sure it stands out. Let us have a look at these features
Aesthetics
The bike boasts of a very very aggressive styling with bikini fairing with screenless front cowls, Honda emblem embossed huge side cowls similar to the Twister, twin tone seats, sporty half chain cover, and a really cool tail.
Performance
The bike sports the 150cc engine and HMSI has increased the power output by 0.7bhp with output going up to 14 bhp. The bike is more powerful that the Achiever or the CB Unicorn, but still lacks behind from the Hunk and CBZ extreme. The peak power produced is 8500rpm that is 500 more than the old 8000 rpm from Unicorn.
Weight
The bike is more lighter than the old Unicorn, and nearly 8kg lighter. It seems the company has understood the importance of keeping the bike weight low.
No more Kick Start
The bike no longer support kick start. The bike has completely eradicated the kick start option to go along with the crowd. But, the bike could easily have retained it along with the button start option.
Misc features
The bike sports a very cool digital console that sports the tachometer, information lights, blue backlit digital speedometer, tripmeter, clock, and fuel meter. Also, the bike has a reduced fuel tank with 1 liter less capacity then the 13 liter old Unicorn. The bike will boasts good fuel efficiency with 60kmpl on Indian roads. The other features include Vibrations dampeners, Maintenance Free 12Volt 4Ah Maintenance Free Battery (The older Unicorn comes with 12V 7Ah), Viscous Air Filter etc.
The bike is not charged the same as the older sibling, and of course it worth each penny due to the added features. The bike will cost Rs 71790(on road Pune) making it Rs 4000 more costlier than the older sibling.
But, compared to the other options our there such as Yamaha FZ 16 with on road pune price of Rs 73000, there are more options for serious buyers.
The true bike lovers will definitely give a though to FZ, as Dazzler lacks the awesome sporty looks, insane power, and torque. But, the bike does boast of an awesome mileage for true consume bike lovers.

Hi all..i have bought uni dazzler on May 31st…Completed my 15 days and it has touched 400kms…Only one word i can say is Awesome or excellent or great….now i m feeling the slogan of Honda “I Enjoy the Quality”it has very smooth engine with comfort riding…. its definitely a gud upgraded package than old unicorn…the wider rear tyre, sexy digi console, power increment and tubeless tyre gives u a pleasant driving and sporty look…paying just 4000 bucks extra u get thise upgrades than older Uni which is good value for money thing… In City riding i acheived mileage of 52…Depends on driving style..but it gives around 50-55 kmpl in city riding conditons…In top speed(60 – 70kmph)also bike doesnt makes noise and vibes..feels like flying….only doubt is it doesnt have kick start..oly elec start..i ve doubted and scared while hearing first..after enquiring dealr he said ..it comes wit MF battery and sure ther will be no prob for 4-5 years in battery….gear shift is really smooth and easy….braking is excellent…one more thing i like to clarify is here i seen in several posts that rear disk is risky and tough for fresh new first time riders…But the truth is rear disc is not powerfula s front one…i’ve felt rear dis is some wat 20 -30% sharper than drum brake…but ther is no question of riskiness in rear discs….on the whole its a sporty commuter,…..i m very much satisfied…it simply overtook old uni in all aspects…while comparing to pulsar(Poor per and ewngine and no comfort..only style) and gs(rust prob and relaiablity of engine) and fz(Better – but fails in mileage)..its better in all aspects…but it can beat the style of fz..but in performance and specs wise it has comparitively better than above 3…so guys go for it and Have a enjoyable riding…if any queries mail me to sun_vijay2003@gmail.com…bye..
