The buzz that is doing rounds this season is that Japan based giant automaker, Yamaha, is planning to launch two new bikes in India this year. The Yamaha YBR and SZ bikes are very much what the youth and the young crowd is looking for. The company is already in the good books for many youngsters who yearn for a dream bike that is from Yamaha. The company already makes a 3.5 percent share in the Indian bike market and hopes to boost it to 10 percent by 2012 end. Also, it plans to increase the dealership outlets to 450 from the existing 427 outlets.
The Yamaha official affirmed the news and that the bikes will be launched and will be very much the choice of those who are looking for reliable commuter bikes. Another intention that the company has is also of making the bike lovers aware about entry level bikes.
The YBR 125 that is out in the international markets sports single-cylinder, air cooled, four stroke engine. The Yamaha engine is balanced to minimize vibrations and reduce emissions. But, the details and specifications of the bike in India have not yet been revealed.
The company is expecting a market share of 20 percent in the luxury bike segments by 2010 end. The company sold 1.1 lakh units of FZ series making it a 12 percent share holder in the deluxe segment bikes.
Now, that the economy is finally stabilizing and there is money paying in the life of bike lovers, they are not hesitant in investing is a good stylish piece of metal. The new generation as well as 30 something working male are finding the kind of bikes Yamaha makes quite appealing.
